AFP to Honor Local Philanthropists at National Philanthropy Day Luncheon
By Ken Coggeshall
On November 20, 2025, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Greater Cincinnati Chapter, will host its annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) luncheon, presented by Fifth Third Foundation at Cincinnati Music Hall, celebrating exemplary leaders whose vision, generosity, and service have helped shape Greater Cincinnati’s vibrant philanthropic community.
NPD is a special day set aside to promote philanthropy and recognize individuals, organizations and businesses that are inspiring change through their significant impact on nonprofit organizations. Each day, generous benefactors and volunteers make a difference to people across a spectrum of nonprofit organizations from the arts to education to social services and everything in between. Through NPD, all nonprofit organizations have the opportunity to recognize these dedicated and loyal supporters.
Here are this year’s honorees, each honored in a distinct category:
Philanthropists of the Year - Dianne Rosenberg & J. David Rosenberg
Volunteer of the Year - Barbara Weyand
Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy - Zach McGinty
Outstanding Foundation / Corporation - Scripps Howard Fund
Innovation in Fundraising - Impact 100, Greater Cincinnati
Lifetime Achievement in Philanthropy - Jim Yunker
The 2025 National Philanthropy Day luncheon not only honors these individuals and organizations but offers the community an opportunity to reflect on the power of giving—whether through volunteer time, financial investment, youth leadership, creative models, or long-term commitment. The event will be emceed by WLWT 5 news anchor Ashley Kirklen.
