The Warehouse & Delivery Technician plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of Queen City Book Bank’s 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse, office, and campus. This position helps create a welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors while supporting the timely distribution of books to our partners.

This hands-on role supports daily operations through facility upkeep, maintenance and repairs, and coordination of deliveries and logistics. The technician helps maintain both interior and exterior spaces, supports incoming and outgoing shipments, and works closely with team members and vendors to keep everything running seamlessly.

Job Description

The Warehouse & Delivery Technician plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of Queen City Book Bank’s 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse, office, and campus. This position helps create a welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors while supporting the timely distribution of books to our partners.

This hands-on role supports daily operations through facility upkeep, maintenance and repairs, and coordination of deliveries and logistics. The technician helps maintain both interior and exterior spaces, supports incoming and outgoing shipments, and works closely with team members and vendors to keep everything running seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the warehouse, offices, meeting spaces, restrooms, and common areas
  • Care for exterior grounds, including lawn maintenance, weed control, snow removal, and general upkeep
  • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshoot facility or equipment issues
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to complete repairs and maintenance projects on time and within budget
  • Support incoming deliveries by receiving, inspecting, and transporting donations and supplies
  • Prepare, organize, and deliver outgoing book shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with warehouse organization, storage optimization, and inventory movement (including use of pallet jack)
  • Meet and coordinate with service providers (HVAC, electrical, waste removal, fire safety, etc.) and partners vendors/partners (box supplier, ReUse Hub, etc.) as needed
  • Support general operations, including box assembly, fulfillment, recycling/trash removal, and vehicle upkeep

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Professional, dependable, and punctual
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Customer service-focused and willing to jump in where needed
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Additional Details

  • First shift, Monday–Friday, 20–25 hours per week
  • Occasional schedule flexibility and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
