VP of Advancement

The Vice President of Advancement is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive strategies to enhance donor engagement, strengthen volunteer involvement, grow fundraising initiatives, and elevate community visibility and engagement. This role will build and lead a team focused on nurturing relationships and driving philanthropic support to fulfill DCCH's mission.

Position Summary
The Vice President of Advancement is a senior leadership role responsible for planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive strategies to enhance donor engagement, strengthen volunteer involvement, grow fundraising initiatives, and elevate community visibility and engagement. This role will build and lead a team focused on nurturing relationships and driving philanthropic support to fulfill DCCH's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Develop and implement strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across all giving levels.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with individuals, foundations, corporate sponsors, and major donors.
- Oversee donor recognition programs, impact reporting, and personalized stewardship activities to increase retention and lifetime giving.
- Partner with the President & CEO to engage key stakeholders and major donors in mission-driven initiatives.
- Fundraising and Development
- Lead the planning and execution of annual fundraising plans, including capital campaigns, major gift programs, planned giving, and online fundraising.
- Develop targeted strategies for increasing revenue from individuals, corporations, foundations, and events.
- Supervise all aspects of fundraising events, including budgeting, sponsorships, logistics, and volunteer coordination.
- Analyze fundraising data and trends to refine strategies and measure effectiveness.
- Volunteer Management
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and retention strategies for DCCH programs and events.
- Build partnerships with community groups, corporations, and faith-based organizations to develop a strong volunteer base.
- Ensure volunteers are effectively onboarded and recognized for their contributions.
- Execute Volunteer Appreciation events throughout the year.
- Community Relations and Outreach
- Serve as a key spokesperson and ambassador for DCCH in the community, representing the organization at public events, civic meetings, and media opportunities.
- Develop strategic partnerships with community leaders, local businesses, churches, schools, and civic groups to enhance visibility and support.
- Oversee public relations initiatives and coordinate with the communications team on messaging, branding, and storytelling.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the advancement team, fostering a culture of philanthropy and accountability.
- Collaborate with the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and program leaders to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
- Prepare and present advancement reports and strategic updates to the Board and relevant committees.
- Social Enterprise Expansion
- Oversee management of Flea Market, Farmers Market, Barn and Festival Grounds.
- Participate in Festival Grounds Renovation Project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in cultivating major donors and managing complex fundraising initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of CRM software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect) and fundraising best practices.
- Passion for the mission of DCCH and a demonstrated commitment to child and family services.
Working Conditions
- Occasional evening and weekend hours required for events and donor engagement.
- Ability to travel locally for meetings, presentations, and outreach activities.
