Volunteer Coordinator Position
Our Volunteer Coordinator is a vital part-time position (25 hours per week) that oversees all volunteer recruitment and engagement to ensure smooth delivery of services to our neighbors. Volunteers are the heart of our organization and are key in delivering the services that we offer

Volunteer Coordination Responsibilities
- Ensure volunteers provide a dignified, respectful and culturally competent experience for all neighbors utilizing IPM services.
- Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan including social media, networking, outreach and community presentations.
- Prepare and maintain all documents related to volunteer management including policies and procedures, job descriptions, training manuals etc.
- Manage volunteer platform, Better Impact, for volunteer communications, scheduling, reporting and tracking volunteer hours.
- Plan and implement volunteer recognition activities and the annual volunteer luncheon
- Represents IPM’s mission and values and keep volunteers informed of IPM’s services and activities through social media and newsletters
- Manage IPM’s Volunteer Council and communicate meeting outcomes to staff and volunteers
- Collaborate across all teams to ensure adequate volunteer coverage for all pantry operations and programs.
- Collaborate with Operations Team to provide safe, hygienic and efficient working environment for volunteers
Position Requirements
- Associate’s degree or at least two years’ experience in volunteer coordination or other relevant work experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms
- Ability to train and motivate volunteers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or weekends
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
