The Vice President of Funding is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of Life Learning Center (LLC). This role requires a visionary leader with the technical expertise to implement innovative fundraising methodologies, the relational skills to build connections with key philanthropic partners, and the managerial ability to oversee a multi-faceted team.
Mission: The Life Learning Center will deliver a holistic, integrated continuum of education and care to help at-risk citizens step to their highest potential.

Position Function & Principal Activities: The Vice President of Funding is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of Life Learning Center (LLC). This role requires a visionary leader with the technical expertise to implement innovative fundraising methodologies, the relational skills to build connections with key philanthropic partners, and the managerial ability to oversee a multi-faceted team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Vision
- Develop and implement a long-term fundraising strategy that leverages diverse revenue streams, including electronic and direct marketing, philanthropy, institutional sourcing, and private grant opportunities.
- Provide strategic oversight across all fundraising branches, ensuring alignment with LLC's mission and long-term goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and results-driven performance within the fundraising team.
- Electronic and Direct Marketing
- Design and execute long-term electronic and direct marketing campaigns to engage the broader community in ongoing financial support.
- Identify opportunities for scalable, automated fundraising systems that can yield sustainable revenue streams over time.
- Advocate for and implement modern marketing tools and methodologies to reach LLC's target audience effectively.
- Philanthropy and Institutional Sourcing
- Build and nurture relationships with high-value philanthropic individuals, institutional partners, and key community stakeholders.
- Assist in closing for major fundraising opportunities, ensuring strategic alignment and follow-through.
- Represent LLC at high-profile events, fostering connections with potential donors and partners.
- Identifying and utilizing fundraising software
- Create donor recognition program/programs
- Identify different donor groups
- Create targeted appeals to different donor groups to drive donations
- Grant Development and Management
- Oversee grant application processes, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Collaborate with grant writers and institutional partners to secure significant funding opportunities.
- Build relationships with foundation representatives to increase the likelihood of grant success.
- Team Leadership and Performance Management
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing fundraising team, including specialists in direct marketing, grant writing, and donor relations.
- Implement performance-based compensation structures to motivate and reward exceptional results.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Financial Oversight and Accountability
- Develop and manage annual fundraising budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Provide regular reports to the President/CEO and Board of Directors on fundraising progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance.
- Adjust strategies based on evaluation keeping with overall strategic plan.
- Track donor engagement, retention rate, and analyze revenue streams.
