Job Summary

Beech Acres Parenting Center is seeking a Vice President of Effective Schools Solutions to provide program leadership including strategic and operational management of school-based programs: Beyond the Classroom and The Character Effect.  Responsible for establishing strategic directions, policies, and procedures at all levels within Beyond the Classroom and The Character Effect so that operational, fiscal, and staffing efforts will meet and exceed internal and external customers' needs and expectations.  Maintain policy, procedural, funder and/or legislative compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide program leadership including strategic and operational management of school-based programs: Beyond the Classroom and The Character Effect.  Responsible for establishing strategic direction, policies, and procedures at all levels within Beyond the Classroom and The Character Effect so that operational, fiscal, and staffing efforts will meet and exceed internal and external customers’ needs and expectations.  Maintain policy, procedural, funder and/or legislative compliance requirements. 

Responsible for internal and external matters related to social and emotional learning and behavioral health including efficient and effective delivery of quality services that meet clients’ needs and compliance. Serve as the strategic liaison between schools, educational service centers, mental health boards, other agencies and Beech Acres.  Foster productive relationships with school district leadership, funders, business partners and governmental entities. 

  • Lead school-based social and emotional learning development and behavioral health intervention programs.
  • Ensure the strength-based approach is woven throughout both The Character Effect and Beyond the Classroom.
  • Incorporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the internal Beyond the Classroom and The Character Effect teams and within services to clients.
  • Establish performance goals including client outcomes and satisfaction, customer satisfaction, persons served, financial, client utilization, and employee development, and performance.
  • Ensure the development and execution of updated and relevant school programming.
  • Drive data informed and research-based best practices.
  • Work cross functionally to lead the achievement of program outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance to promote program outcomes in alignment with the strategic plan priorities.
  • Coordinate the integration of Beech Acres’ core services across schools where appropriate. (Foster care, Kinship Care and Parent Coaching).
  • Lead activities to ensure Beech Acres maintains a thorough understanding of government and government contractors.
  • Seek and develop strategic internal and external partnerships to advance positive and measurable outcomes for students and the adults who work with them.
  • Develop relationships with foundations investing in social and emotional learning and behavioral health.
  • Lead ongoing data analysis, and facilitation of quality improvement projects.
  • Work in conjunction with school team leads, supervisors, and managers to effectively guide relationships with students, school staff, and parents.
  • Assess regularly Beech Acres’ services and partnership effectiveness.
  • Manage program budgets by ensuring weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual targets and thresholds are met.
  • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to reforecast and plan revenue and expenses aligned to the strategic plan.
  • Lead positive employee engagement through position planning, hiring, on boarding, individual staff development, performance reviews, coaching, team development and culture building.
  • Ensure staff alignment and engagement with agency vision, mission, direction and principles.  
  • Promote agency culture that embodies the values including Natural Strength Practices.
  • Establish, implement and monitor systems utilized that enable and support successful service delivery and adherence to ODMHAS, COA and Beech Acres standards and protocols. Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, work groups and related efforts including auditing and outcome/evaluation monitoring.
  • Maintain effective customer relationships with school partners to ensure ongoing program success.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree or beyond preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams and program(s).   
  • Previous experience with school-based services.
  • High level of innovative and critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively lead processes that support continuous improvement and model operationalization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Strong ability to lead, develop, mentor and coach teams to success. Documented history of successfully developing and leading high performing teams. 
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to engage and motivate teams.
