Position Description

Legal Aid seeks an attorney who is interested in practicing Administrative Law in the areas of public benefits and education.  This position will be split 50/50 between our Income, Work and Health and Children’s/Education Practice Groups. The attorney will represent clients with administrative agencies like the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Ohio Department of Medicaid, Social Security and others.  Our goal is to ensure that all eligible individuals and families get the benefits and services they need to keep them healthy and stable. This includes identifying and resolving systemic issues that keep eligible people from successfully accessing and utilizing public benefits.  Legal Aid Education attorneys advocate to promote school success and stability and reduce race and disability-based disparities in education outcomes. This includes representing parents of children who need special education services or who are proposed for school disciplinary removal, and working in coordination with partners to improve school outcomes for children in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.

We are especially interested in speaking to attorneys with two to five years of experience in the practice of law, but we will also consider applicants expecting to receive their law degree in 2023. This position is for our Cincinnati office.  If you want to make a difference in our community through dedicated service to achieve equal justice for all, we want to hear from you.
