Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is seeking a Special Events Coordinator who is a skilled project manager and a detail-oriented self-starter. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with community volunteers to plan fundraising events to benefit youth in need. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

The Special Events Coordinator is a member of Lighthouse’s Development Team, which is responsible for driving growth of donated revenue through a comprehensive fundraising program that meets or exceeds annual and long-term financial goals. This position works closely with members of the Development Team in a supportive environment dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission: to empower young people and families to succeed through a continuum of care that promotes healing and growth.

Starting hourly rate from $23.73

Competitive pay based on education and experience

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate all details of major events from planning through execution and post-event wrap-up. This includes, among other things, establishing and managing budgets, recommending appropriate venues, securing quotes from and coordinating the work of vendors, planning menus, securing permits as needed, overseeing the creation of both print and electronic event materials, planning the layout at the facilities, scheduling speakers, and determining day-of-event volunteer needs.
  • Establish good working relationships with committee members and engage them in meaningful ways in the event planning process.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to event chairs and serve as the primary employee liaison to event committee volunteers. Prepare for and lead event planning meetings with event chairs.
  • Develop event timelines in coordination with the VP of Development & Grants and ensure tasks are completed to ensure key milestones are executed on schedule.
  • Manage a portfolio of potential event donors using Raiser’s Edge and moves management to research, identify, cultivate, and solicit sponsorships and in-kind donations. Complete donor stewardship activities to retain existing donors.
  • Maintain accurate records, including timelines, income, expenses, and volunteer hours for each event.
  • Assist with smaller fundraising opportunities as they arise (internal or third-party fundraisers).
  • Work with the VP of Development & Grants to establish fundraising goals. Provide quarterly updates on actual results.
  • Provide leadership and supervision of development interns as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of professional work experience in fundraising, marketing, event planning, or related work experience. Experience with non-profits preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully planning and executing major fundraising events preferred.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
  • Experience using Moves Management for donor development preferred.
