The United Way of Greater Cincinnati has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager, Accounting and Operations to provide accounting supervision for United Way's Donor Services Department and United Way of Greater Cincinnati Foundation. 

Job Description

The United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager, Accounting and Operations to provide accounting supervision for UWGC’s Donor Services Department and United Way of Greater Cincinnati Foundation (FDTN). Provide accounting support for Cincinnati Preschool Promise (CPP).

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

UWGC Donor Services Accounting and Reporting Supervision

  • Provide financial oversight of the UWGC Donor Services function including review of account reconciliations, review of journal entries, review of designation payouts, and review of internal and external reporting related to contributions, grants, payouts, and annual campaign.
  • Prepare audit work papers and confirmation letters for external auditors as they relate to the UWGC Donor Services function. Respond to auditor inquiries and provide supporting documentation.
  • Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with UWGC Pledge Management and Collection Policy.
  • Oversee collection efforts including research, communication and reporting.
  • Review reports for the UWGC Finance Audit and Compliance Committee and attend meetings regularly.

 

FDTN Accounting and Reporting Supervision

  • Provide oversight for FDTN accounting. This includes preparation and/or review of accounting transactions, reconciliations with appropriate external data and sub-ledgers and reporting, as well as analysis of variances and fluctuations.
  • Provide review of Foundation Form 990.
  • Provide review of bank reconciliation and various account reconciliations for UWGC.
  • Prepare audit work papers and confirmation letters for external auditors as they relate to the FDTN function. Respond to auditor inquiries and provide supporting documentation.
  • Prepare reports for the FDTN Board.

CPP Accounting and Reporting

  • Review weekly accounts payable runs for CPP.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll journals for CPP.
  • Provide review of bank reconciliation and various account reconciliations for CPP.
  • Serve as main point-of-contact for accounting & finance inquiries and requests coming from CPP’s CFO.
  • Attend CPP Finance Committee meetings.

 

Customer Relationship Management System

  • Serve as finance department lead for enhancements of CRM system.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Donor Services Manager on administration of CRM system post-implementation.

 

Property Services

  • Manage property maintenance projects, including negotiating contracts with vendors.
  • Manage relationships with UWGC building tenants, including negotiating leases.
  • Manage Property Servies staff of three and any contracted staff to ensure timely and effective completion of any property maintenance and upkeep projects.
  • Track Property Services department’s adherence to annual operating budget.
  • Develop and maintain schedule of operating reserve for maintenance and repair of significant assets on UWGC’s property.
  • Maintains asset replacement program and annual evaluation of reserve needs.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage four direct reports, including the Donor Services Manager (Finance), Senior Maintenance Technician (Property Services), Maintenance Technician and Front Desk Receptionist.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce-CRM preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Word and intermediate Excel.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in general accounting.
  • Minimum two years management experience.

Starting salary $82,000, plus competitive benefits package
