Job Summary

Washington United Church of Christ is a 'mission' church in the low-income Cincinnati neighborhood of Camp Washington. In response to our neighbors' needs, we operate several secular outreach programs focused on food and children. We are seeking an Outreach Coordinator to recruit volunteers, seek grants and contributions, help us communicate through social media.

This year-long position, starting in July, is funded by AmeriCorps VISTA.

Job Description

OUTREACH COORDINATOR

AmeriCorps VISTA position with Washington United Church of Christ

Full time (35 hours a week) from July 13, 2026 to July 12, 2027

Washington UCC is located in the Zip Code of Cincinnati with the highest poverty rate. Washington UCC has outreach programs to provide food and clothing through our Camp Cupboard free store, community lunch on weekdays, after-school tutoring during the school year, a summer program for children, help for families at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

YOU WILL:

Recruit, train and nurture volunteers for each outreach program. Create a system we can continue to use to communicate with volunteers going forward.
Seek grants and financial contributions from foundations, individuals, businesses, and other church donors to fund expenses of the outreach programs. Create a grant searching and tracking system.
Create a social media presence and expand communications network, utilizing existing newsletter and website.
