Job Summary

HER Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated part-time Medicaid Biller to join our team. The Medicaid Biller will support the efficient operation of our Business Office by accurately processing and following up on Medicaid claims and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position is part-time, working 24 hours per week. The starting rate is $20.00 per hour.

Job Description

HER Cincinnati is seeking a dedicated part-time Medicaid Biller to join our team. The Medicaid Biller will enhance HER Cincinnati’s ability to fulfill our mission of breaking the cycles of poverty, addiction, and human trafficking. Specifically, this position will support the efficient operation of our Business Office by accurately processing and following up on Medicaid claims and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position will work at the Anna Louise Inn, 2401 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

This position is part-time, working 24 hours per week, either three 8-hour shifts or four 6-hour shifts. The hours worked will be Monday through Friday sometime between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

The starting pay rate for this non-exempt position is $20.00 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Process and submit Medicaid claims, verify coding, insurance, and provider information before submitting electronic claims to Medicaid insurance providers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other staff to ensure accurate documentation and billing. 
  • Follow up on claims. Monitor rejected and denied claims, contact insurance providers for inquiries, and resolve any issues, rejections, or denials in a timely manner. 
  • Use the Ohio Medicaid Provider Management Network tool to obtain and verify client insurance information.
  • Work with Medicaid insurance providers to process and pay dual coverage claims.
  • Assist with revalidations and recertifications for payers and providers.
  • Assist with other billing-related tasks and perform duties to support the overall billing process.
  • Work in conjunction with peers and functional areas of the Business Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information; abides by HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • Participate in special projects and personal development training.
  • Maintain current knowledge. Stay updated on Medicaid billing regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree in a related field is preferred. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong understanding of Medicaid billing practices. 
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and software applications. 
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems. 
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
