This full-time role oversees everything from digital campaigns, PR, and seasonal guide books to front-of-house guest services, helping grow attendance, deepen community engagement, and strengthen donor support. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and project manager who loves both big-picture strategy and hands-on execution in a mission-driven, arts-focused environment.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

The Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to bringing people together through the shared experience of art, serving over 50,000 people per year throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Our new home in the heart of Uptown Cincinnati hosts classes, concerts, exhibitions, performances, and community events year-round as well as private event rentals. Additionally, CCAC is committed to Creative Placemaking – bringing the arts out into the world — in order to create stronger communities.

 

OPPORTUNITY:

CCAC is seeking a highly creative, strategic, and detail-oriented Marketing Manager to lead all marketing, communications, and guest experience initiatives for our dynamic, growing arts center. This is an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven professional who is equally comfortable developing big-picture strategies and rolling up their sleeves to create compelling content.

 

In this role, the Marketing Manager will oversee CCAC’s brand, advertising, digital communications, public relations, direct mail, and community-facing promotions, ensuring that every message reflects CCAC’s mission, voice, and values. They will supervise the Guest Services Coordinator (GSC) to ensure exceptional visitor experiences—from registration to arrival, engagement, and follow-up.

 

The Marketing Manager plays a vital leadership role in increasing attendance, expanding community awareness, strengthening donor communications, and elevating the overall CCAC experience.

 

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed to support CCAC programs, events, and guest-facing activities.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Marketing & Communications Leadership

  • Develop and implement an annual communications strategy to increase awareness, attendance, and support across CCAC’s classes, events, exhibitions, and performances, and external rentals.
  • Produce and manage CCAC’s digital communications and online presence, including email marketing, social media, content calendar, and analytics.
  • Maintain and update CCAC’s website in collaboration with volunteer web designer; ensuring accuracy and accessibility while maximizing exposure.
  • Initiate and cultivate relationships with news media, crafting and distributing press releases and finding opportunities for earned media.
  • Lead all advertising efforts and manage annual marketing and advertising budget at the direction of the Executive Director and Board.
  • Lead production of seasonal guide books and other direct mail efforts, coordinating with staff, designers, and print vendors to ensure all deadlines are met and projects stay on schedule.
  • Coordinate neighborhood postering and flyering efforts, utilizing volunteers and part-time staff for distribution.
  • Create compelling copy, stories, and visual direction that reflect CCAC’s personal, spirited, and sincere tone.

 

Data, Metrics, & Organizational Insight

  • Collect, manage, and analyze attendance data, survey results, digital analytics, and audience insights to support organizational decision-making.
  • Develop standard reporting dashboards for leadership, program staff, and the Board.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve marketing reach, diversify audiences, and increase engagement.

 

Guest Experience Oversight

  • Supervise the Guest Services Coordinator (GSC) and work with them to oversee the part-time Guest Services Associates.
  • With the team, maintain a welcoming, warm, and accessible environment for all guests, and ensure superb customer service at all public-facing points: registration, reception desk, class check-in, gallery visits, ticketed events, and follow-up communications.
  • Oversee front-of-house systems and processes, including ticketing, signage/wayfinding, lobby presentation, visitor communications, and accessibility needs.
  • Establish guest feedback mechanisms, analyze results, and recommend improvements.

 

Collaboration & Organizational Engagement

  • Work closely with CCAC Executive Director, Programs Director, Gallery Manager, and Venue Rentals Manager to promote offerings across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with external volunteers (web designer, graphic designer) and contractors (print vendors, mail houses).
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Board’s Marketing and Communications Committee; provide data, updates, and strategy recommendations.
  • Support major CCAC events and community programs as part of an all-hands-on-deck team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or related field, ideally in arts, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills; ability to adapt tone for diverse platforms.
  • Proficiency across digital marketing tools, including for email, social media, website management, digital design, and analytics platforms highly preferred.
  • Experience managing staff, interns, or volunteers.
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of customer service best practices and guest experience design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across small teams and with a wide range of partners.
  • Comfort working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Passion for CCAC’s mission and commitment to building community through the arts.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $40,000 – $45,000 annual salary + $200/month health benefits stipend
  • 13 paid holidays and 14 PTO days per year
  • Matching retirement contributions
