Salary: $40,000 - $52,000

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Reports to: Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications

About ArtWorks:  Now in its 27th year, ArtWorks is an award-winning Greater Cincinnati nonprofit that has pioneered public art and economic impact throughout the region to create community-based public art that provides career opportunities for artists of all ages. ArtWorks partners with community leaders to enhance civic pride through art, employing over 300 artists annually. This includes young artists aged 14–24 who earn a living wage by participating in our signature apprentice program. The economic empowerment and mentorship that ArtWorks provides leads to upward mobility, which is critically important for young people who come from a majority of under-resourced and underemployed neighborhoods and households. Since 1996, ArtWorks has employed over 4,000 youth and 3,500 creative professionals. The organization has completed more than 14,000 public and private artworks, including public sculpture, light-based installations and more than 250 permanent outdoor murals, contributing to the region’s global reputation as an arts destination. Job Description

The Marketing & Communications Manager will play an important role in shaping and executing marketing and communication strategies to drive brand awareness and support donor engagement and recruitment efforts to foster diverse community participation. This role will oversee all digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and website management. The manager will monitor and analyze campaign performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights. They will manage the creation and delivery of compelling content, coordinate with cross-functional internal teams, volunteers, and external vendors, and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices. The manager will coordinate marketing events (including dedications), as well as design collateral, and help support overall marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing concepts, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving results.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media coordination (60% of time)

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance brand presence, engage target audiences, and drive traffic to the company's digital platforms
  • Create and curate compelling social media content, including posts, images, videos, and infographics
  • Create and implement strategies to increase the number of followers and engagement
  • Monitor social media platforms, and respond to comments, messages, and mentions
  • Track key performance metrics of social media posts and campaigns, such as engagement, reach, click-through rates and conversions
  • Generate reports and provide insights to guide future strategies and improvements
  • Plan and maintain a content calendar for social media posts, ensuring a consistent posting schedule and timely delivery of content

Website coordination (15% of time)

  • Ensure the ArtWorks website is up to date, visually appealing, and user-friendly
  • Regularly review and update content, images, and videos to provide a better user experience
  • Develop and publish engaging and informative content for the website, including blog posts, articles, landing pages, and events
  • Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to improve organic traffic and search rankings
  • Monitor website performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track metrics such as traffic, bounce rate, conversion rates, and user behavior
  • Generate reports and provide insights to optimize website performance and user experience

Newsletter/Email coordination (15% of time)

  • Develop engaging newsletters to communicate with subscribers by curating and creating relevant content
  • Plan, create, and execute email marketing campaigns
  • Use email marketing platforms to segment audiences and ensure effective delivery
  • Analyze open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates. Continuously optimize campaigns based on data
  • Maintain and grow the email subscriber list, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR)

Marketing: general support and event coordination (10% of time)

  • Coordinate marketing event planning and logistics for events including dedications
  • Help organize details to create a program agenda that includes speeches, presentations, testimonials, or performances that align with the dedication event's purpose
  • Coordinate with speakers, presenters, or performers to ensure their contributions are aligned with the event's goals and messaging
  • Coordinate with designers to support visually appealing collateral, including signage
  • And other duties as assigned

Qualifications and experiences:

  • Commitment to ArtWorks’ mission, vision, values, culture and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility & Belonging Plan
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts, strategies, and best practices across various channels
  • Skilled in social media management, creating compelling content across different digital platforms that result in strong community engagement
  • Proficient in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Sprout Social) to track, analyze, and interpret key marketing metrics
  • Experience with email marketing tools and strategies, including creating effective email campaigns, managing subscriber lists, and email performance metrics
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple campaigns, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative digital marketing strategies and campaigns
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing/communications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or may consider equivalent work experience in the areas of responsibilities
  • Driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours when needed

  • Experience with various technologies, able to troubleshoot and research as issues arise
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products as well as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sprout Social, Constant Contact, and WordPress
  • Ability to manage time well, particularly while managing priorities
  • Adhere to ethical behavior and business practices
