Job Summary

The Individual Giving Officer is a member of the Advancement team and is responsible for developing and executing strategies that increase, diversify, and sustain mid-level and major gifts from individuals for Easterseals Redwood’s programs in the service areas of Military & Veterans, Disabilities, and Workforce Development. This position’s primary focus is generating revenue from individual donors, the largest source of philanthropic funds for the organization. The Individual Giving Officer is responsible for stewarding existing donor relationships and prospecting for new support through research and outreach. The ideal candidate is a relationship-oriented professional who can connect donors to the mission of Easterseals Redwood, leading to increased retention, acquisition, and giving.

Job Description

Essential and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of up to 150 donors through effective communication and ongoing stewardship with a goal to increase engagement and giving.
  • Develop and implement strategies for retention, cultivation, and solicitation of existing and new donors.
  • Utilize data and research tools to identify new opportunities and giving trends to grow contributions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions with donors using agency’s fundraising database, Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Serve as a resource and collaborative team member.
  • Attend events as needed to engage with donors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Creative problem solving and strategic thinking that help to move the Advancement team toward yearly goals.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently when needed.
  • Business-professional dress and friendly demeanor.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum two to four years proven success in fundraising/development or sales and marketing.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and meet new people.
  • Experience with donor database or CRM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work a standard schedule, with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend events.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Inside a typical office environment is heated, and air conditioned with temperatures 68 to 80 degrees F. Ambient noise, low, not requiring hearing protection. No other personal safety equipment is required. Staff members maintain commitment to quality, safety, and a healthy, clean, and orderly environment in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, licensing, certification, accreditation, and business standards.
