Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities

  1. Operational Management – Lead the day-to-day operation of all food service and house-keeping functions to ensure organizational needs and schedules are met. Manage/deliver high quality food service and housekeeping duties.  Be available to guests to communicate any special dietary or accommodation requests.
  2. Financial Performance – Develop and manage the Guest Services budget, oversee all department purchasing, vendor relationships and staff scheduling to meet organizational and departmental financial goals. Assist Operations Director in creating capital budget as it applies to Guest Services.
  3. Detail Management – Lead Guest Service meetings and validate logistics and details as it pertains to reservations. Troubleshoot conflicts.
  4. Accreditation/Compliance – Enforce, follow, record and maintain all organizational, OSHA, EPA and Health Department policies, regulations, certifications and documentation associated with the operation of the Guest Services department. Manage Milk and Summer Food program according to Ohio Department of Education requirements.
  5. Staff – Directly oversee the selection, supervision, training, assessment, and recognition of Guest Services staff.
  6. Physical Assets – Ensure the assets of the Guest Services operation are safely, effectively and efficiently utilized and maintained. Keep current with organizational and vendor led inspections.
  7. Leadership Team Support – provide Guest Services input on organizational and capital initiatives.
  8. Culture and Innovation – Model a culture of client focus, collaboration, discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability focused on The Camp Joy Way. Support Camp Joy in continued learning and innovation, focusing on new initiatives to enhance the organization.

Requirements:

  • Employee must work a flexible schedule.
  • Employee must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and meet Camp Joy’s insurability requirements.
  • Employee must lift 50 pounds and work at heights of up to 8 feet.
  • Employee must operate tools, appliances, equipment, and utility vehicles.
  • Employee must be on their feet 6 hours a day in an outdoor environment in all types of weather and walk on uneven ground.
  • Employee must have and maintain ServSafe Certification, or must obtain certification within 3 months of hiring.
  • Employee must obtain “Person in Charge” certification from Health Department.
