Position Summary
The Grants Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions for grant-funded programs, ensuring financial compliance, supporting reporting requirements, and collaborating with both internal teams and external funders. This hybrid position reports to the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and enter program budgets and verify proposals for grant applications

Monitor grant expenditures and propose reclasses as needed

Collaborate with Accounting, Payroll, and Program staff to align payroll and grant allocations

Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for funders in coordination with the Grants Department

Support audits and prepare the annual Federal indirect cost rate submission

Maintain budgeted positions listing and participate in grant closeout reconciliation
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required (relevant experience considered)

Minimum 2 years of general accounting experience (grant experience preferred)

Knowledge of GAAP; experience with Financial Edge preferred

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work with diverse populations and reflect the YWCA mission in daily work
