Position Summary
The Grants Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions for grant-funded programs, ensuring financial compliance, supporting reporting requirements, and collaborating with both internal teams and external funders. This hybrid position reports to the Director of Finance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enter program budgets and verify proposals for grant applications

  • Monitor grant expenditures and propose reclasses as needed

  • Collaborate with Accounting, Payroll, and Program staff to align payroll and grant allocations

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for funders in coordination with the Grants Department

  • Support audits and prepare the annual Federal indirect cost rate submission

  • Maintain budgeted positions listing and participate in grant closeout reconciliation


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required (relevant experience considered)

  • Minimum 2 years of general accounting experience (grant experience preferred)

  • Knowledge of GAAP; experience with Financial Edge preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work with diverse populations and reflect the YWCA mission in daily work
