Executive Director, EPIC
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive of the organization and is responsible for overall leadership, operational management, fundraising, community engagement, and strategic direction. The ED oversees day‑to‑day operations of the home, supervises staff, manages the budget, and works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the mission is fulfilled.
Leadership & Management
- Provide day‑to‑day management of EPIC House, ensuring residents receive high‑quality support and services.
- Hire, supervise, and develop staff; foster a positive, mission‑aligned workplace culture.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and nonprofit governance practices.
- Fundraising & Development
- Lead all fundraising efforts, including individual giving, annual campaigns, grants, and special events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners.
- Identify new funding opportunities to enhance organizational sustainability.
- Prepare grant proposals and ensure timely reporting and stewardship of contributions.
- Community Outreach & Marketing
- Increase public awareness of the organization’s mission and impact.
- Build and manage a strong social media presence across platforms.
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies to expand visibility and volunteer support.
- Represents the organization in media, public events, and community forums.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Work with the Board to develop and manage the annual budget.
- Oversee financial integrity, including accounting, reporting, and forecasting.
- Ensure efficient use of resources while safeguarding resident care and services.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for the Board of Directors.
- Board Relations
- Collaborate with the Board to develop organizational strategy and long‑term vision.
- Provide timely updates, data, and recommendations to support decision‑making.
- Assist in Board development, including recruitment, training, and governance practices.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit or human services sector.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage operations, staff, and budgets effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising and development including grant writing experience.
- Demonstrated social media management and digital marketing skills.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and public‑speaking skills.
- Passion for serving low‑income seniors and advancing nonprofit missions.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, business administration, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a residential or community‑based care environment.
- Knowledge of senior services, affordable housing, or aging-related issues.

Working Conditions and Requirements

- This position may require the lifting of light to moderate items and occasional local travel to events or meetings.
