Education Manager (CCAC)
CCAC is seeking an inclusive, collaborative, and forward-thinking individual to lead its arts education initiatives and school partnerships. This role manages CCAC’s seasonal and year-round educational programs, as well as other arts, culture, and wellness classes for diverse people of all ages at CCAC and partner locations.

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND:
The Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to building a stronger community through creativity and connection. Our new home in the heart of Uptown Cincinnati hosts classes, concerts, exhibitions, performances, and community events year-round. This 18,000 sq ft building includes two galleries, classrooms, an auditorium, meeting space, and an occupiable green rooftop.
OPPORTUNITY:
Clifton Cultural Arts Center is seeking an inclusive, collaborative, and forward-thinking individual to lead its arts education initiatives and school partnerships. The Education Manager develops and manages CCAC’s seasonal and year-round educational programs, as well as other arts, culture, and wellness classes for diverse people of all ages at CCAC and partner locations. The Education Manager works cooperatively with a dedicated team of arts professionals, contracted teaching artists, and community partners to ensure the successful implementation of high-quality, innovative programming consistent with CCAC’s mission and strategic plans.
NOTE: This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that requires flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays to oversee execution and coordination of scheduled educational programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development and Management
- Plan, organize, and evaluate educational programming for adults and youth including classes, summer camps, workshops, young professional programs, and after-school partnerships, including new teen-specific programming at CCAC.
- Evaluate existing and develop new opportunities for the community’s free usage of the MakeShop.
- Hire, train, coordinate, and evaluate educational instructors, teaching artists, and support staff; prepare and manage contracts, payment, and onboarding.
- Foster positive creative experiences through the development of curriculum pathways that are beginner-friendly and welcoming, and work with the Program Director to map how these pathways encourage individuals to return to CCAC or other artistic opportunities. .
- Ensure supplies are available and prepared for programs; purchase equipment, materials, and supplies for education programs per budget and as needed.
- Select, orient, supervise, schedule and evaluate student interns and volunteers for MakeShop and other class-related functions.
- Develop procedures and policies for safe and effective operation of the educational programs.
Community Partnerships and Outreach
- Partner with local elementary and high schools to provide on-site arts programs engaging the K-12 population, e.g. Blast Off Arts, and tie youth opportunities into local school educational standards.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, students, and families.
- Work collaboratively with CCAC’s Creative Placemaking & Community Events Manager to create educational offerings that can be taken off-site.
Program Administration and Evaluation
- Manage registration process for all education programs.
- Maintain accurate records of program attendance and provide reports and statistical information for the Executive Director, Board, and grant writer.
- Working collaboratively with CCAC’s Marketing Manager, develop and produce course descriptions, program catalogs, and promotional materials, as well as related website and social media content to promote enrollment in education programs.
- Maintain and improve systems to evaluate programs to measure customer satisfaction and impact.
- Work collaboratively with Program Director to establish performance standards for all education personnel and ensure performance targets are met.
- Monitor program budget, track expenses, and provide needed information for grant reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate is highly organized, reliable, a problem solver, and self-directed. The ideal candidate has:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Arts Administration, or related field OR equivalent, relevant work experience
- Proven experience in education, arts education, community arts, and/or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Comfort with interacting with students of all ages (preschoolers through adults).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment.
- Comfort with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to move education materials (art supplies, snacks/dinner materials, rolling tables, chairs, etc.) around CCAC and to/from partner schools.
- Access to reliable transportation; some travel to partner schools required.
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse colleagues, parents, and community members.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $40,000 – $45,000 annual salary + $200/month health benefits stipend
- 13 paid holidays and 14 PTO days per year
