Job Summary

The Donor Relations Assistant will play an integral administrative support role to the Donor Relations Director in managing the major gift portfolio, research, communication and general office procedures.  This position requires the utmost confidentiality, accuracy, computer skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and a heart to help those in need.

Job Description

Duties include:

  • Identify, research, and analyze potential prospects for DRD cultivation.
  • Make phone calls and written communication identified by the Donor Relations Director.
  • Work daily in Salesforce environment to maintain data integrity for each donor with ongoing and continuous data entry, tracking and reporting of donor gifts/pledges and gift data.
  • Produce up-to-date, critical, confidential, and highly valuable research reports of all donors.
  • Assist with proposal drafting and research.
  • Develop and coordinate correspondence for major gift solicitation and cultivation.
  • Request and obtain statistical factors of programs and services for each donor in their specific Corps or Service Unit area.
  • Prepare, proofread, edit, and assist with reports, proposals, and presentation materials.
  • Develop revenue and donor spreadsheets.
  • Travel and attend conferences, events, and fundraisers as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective and working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Fundraising databases, Salesforce a plus.
  • Effective organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to think strategically and to troubleshoot problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A professional demeanor and telephone manner is essential.
