Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

BAPC’s DEI Manager fills a key role in the organization’s ongoing efforts to cultivate an equitable, inclusive and welcoming workplace.  This includes leading and supporting ongoing efforts to attract, engage and retain diverse employees while demonstrating BAPC’s core values of high quality, data informed innovation, compassionate service, transformative DEI, and collaborative team culture. Leads the design and development of effective and engaging content and learning experiences for our employees and those we serve.  This position leads the efforts to incorporate DEI perspectives and best practices into the strategic development of standards-aligned curriculum and training. 

  • Leads the development and execution of the organization’s DEI strategy including delivery of diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives using a human-centered design approach.
  • Manage the DEI education efforts that includes the development and facilitation of workshops, training, tools and resources to drive inclusion, belonging and retention initiatives.
  • Help design DEI learning journeys for employees, develop and/or source relevant materials as needed.
  • Provide overall guidance and oversight of the DEI Core Committee and maintain momentum in the Committee’s work.
  • Oversee and support Employee Resource Groups (ERG) within BAPC, e.g. Charter, team roles and responsibilities, financial assistance for events.
  • Facilitate and coordinate small-group training and inclusion circles, DEI book clubs, etc.
  • Provide ongoing project coordination among multiple DEI initiatives; track and manage timelines and projects and deliverables.
  • Responsible to coordinate the execution of organization-wide DEI communications in collaboration with HR and Marketing including updating and enhancing DEI content on intranet and internet sites.
  • Provide advice, coaching and support to leaders in implementing changes to BAPC policies, practices and processes through a DEI perspective.
  • Assist in diversity analytics, including tracking metrics, generating reports to show trends and communicating impact of diversity programs and initiatives across the organization.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on all DEI activities.
  • Conduct research and stay current on new DEI programs, initiatives, diversity-related issues, legislation and best practices to develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster the organization’s DEI goals.
  • Collaborate with other team members and cultivate a positive and productive culture.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Multicultural Studies or related field of study.
  • 2 years of demonstrated work experience focused on driving action in diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience developing and/or training.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and interest in incorporating different frameworks into program design and training.
