Job Summary

The Director of Su Casa Hispanic Center provides leadership and oversight for an array of services that support low-income Hispanic/Latino people living in Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio’s service area. The Director manages the Su Casa supervisory team and is responsible for daily operations, quality improvement efforts, strategic vision and leadership of the department. In conjunction with other agency representatives, the Director also engages with community partners, funders and stakeholders. Job Description

The Director of Su Casa Hispanic Center provides leaderhip and oversight for an array of services that support low-income Hispanic/Latino people living in Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio’s service area. The Director manages the Su Casa supervisory team and is responsible for daily operations and overall strategic vision and leadership of the department. The Director oversees a rigorous quality improvement effort to ensure effective and best in class services are being provided to those served by the department. In conjunction with other agency representatives, the Director also engages with community partners, funders and stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate programs and regular activities relating to Su Casa Hispanic Center including, but not limited to, Emergency Assistance, Case Management, Home Study – Post Release Services (HS/PRS), Education, Health Promotion, MARCC ID and Adopt-a-Family.
  • Provide ongoing supervision to program supervisors and the administrative assistant.
  • Oversee the implementation and coordination of professional development and training for staff and volunteers.
  • Foster diversity and inclusion among Su Casa team members and those served by Su Casa, creating an environment of respect toward diverse languages, cultures, and beliefs.
  • Develop departmental and programmatic budgets, plans, and reports in collaboration with the CFO and COO, including individual grant applications, grant reports, logic models, and annual plans.
  • Prepare records and other reports to comply with all government and funder requirements including audits, monitoring, and other program services.
  • Direct Su Casa programs regarding compliance with all Council on Accreditation standards, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with other Catholic Charities programs and foster partnerships with other community resources and organizations to maximize services for clients.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to develop and complete grant applications.
  • Serve on the Su Casa Advisory Council.
  • In conjunction with the Development department, provide educational presentations to the community about the services of Su Casa, Catholic Charities, and education about Hispanic/Latino culture to promote solidarity and cross-cultural understanding.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts to support Su Casa Hispanic Center.
  • Other Duties, as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Significant experience working with immigrants, including lived experience and deep understanding of Hispanic/Latino culture in the United States.
  • Evidence of servant leadership, that is, putting the needs and well-being of clients and those being supervised as a top priority.
  • Demonstrated interest in children’s wellbeing, including knowledge of how professional interventions can impact their social, emotional, and academic success.
  • Experience in collaborating with other organizational partners to align resources towards achieving objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to manage various tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to build trust and to nurture a learning environment on teams.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and accountability towards results.
  • Demonstrated commitment to leadership supporting diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams.
  • Proficient in the utilization of Salesforce (or similar client management software) and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science.
  • Public speaking skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of local resources to support immigrant families.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Administrative Assistant, Case Management and Family Reunification Supervisor, Emergency Assistance Supervisor, Health Promotion Supervisor, and Education Supervisor
Work Environment:
Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues
Physical Demands:
Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;
  • Talk to other employees/clients and hear them;
  • See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents;
  • Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
