Director of Development and Communications

Ignite Peace is seeking a mission-driven Director of Development and Communications to lead fundraising and strategic communications efforts. This is a hands-on leadership role for a dynamic team player with a passion for social justice, a talent for donor engagement, and the ability to tell powerful stories of impact.

Our work is rooted in our frameworks of anti-racism and nonviolence. Key Responsibilities


Fundraising & Development (60%)
● Lead all major annual fundraising campaigns and donor appeals
● Plan and manage the Annual Gathering, our signature development event
● Coordinate peer-to-peer fundraising through recruitment and administration of our Flying Pig Marathon team
● Steward donors with timely thank-yous, receipts, and relationship-building
● Maintain and analyze donor data (Salesforce, GoFundMePro, QuickBooks)
● Partner with the Executive Director and Development Committee on long-term strategy


Communications (25%)
● Lead organizational communications strategy and implementation
● Oversee website, email communication, and social media (WordPress, MailChimp, Facebook, Instagram)
● Create engaging content for newsletters, annual reports, and event materials
● Represent Ignite Peace at public events, in the media, and with stakeholders
● Design graphics and promotional materials (Canva)


Administration & Team Support (15%)
● Support financial tracking, donor reporting, and database management
● Collaborate on organizational policies, legal filings, and office systems
● Recruit and supervise interns or volunteers as needed

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience
● Proven success with donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and events
● Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
● Proficiency in Salesforce (or other CRM), Canva, MailChimp, and QuickBooks
● Skilled in digital platforms and analytics
● Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects
● Deep commitment to peace, justice, and nonviolence


Compensation & Benefits
● Salary: $57,000-$60,000
● QSEHRA health reimbursement
● Generous PTO and flexible schedule
