Job Summary

As an Executive Team member, contribute to determining the direction of the ministry. You will also communicate internally and externally the mission, values and vision of the Wesley Chapel Mission Center.

Job Description

Communications Duties:

Serve as the administrator and main writer for social media – website, facebook, Instagram.

  1. Create and supply promotional materials – brochures, flyers, handbills, business cards.
  2. Create and secure building signage for outside recognition.
  3. Create and distribute the monthly newsletter, The Beacon.
  4. Create and prepare for distribution the family newsletter.
  5. Attend functions and represent WCMC at displays and in presentations while recruiting paid and volunteer staff members.
  6. Equip board members, staff members, volunteers, parents and other stakeholders to tell the WCMC story.
  7. Lead the creation, printing, and mailing of the Annual Report.
  8. Perform duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Development Duties:

Oversee all grant related activities.

  1. Identify potential grants.
  2. Form relationships with foundation staff.
  3. Write letters of intent and grant requests.
  4. Create grant content.
  5. Manage grant process tracking.
  6. Along with the Director of Program, establish grant measures and a tracking plan.
  7. Track impact and measure success of grants.
  8. Write reports.
  9. Engage in all WCMC development activities.
  10. Serve on teams to identify, create, and implement fund raising activities.
  11. Along with the Executive Director, identify potential donors and build sustainable relationships.
  12. Lead an annual review of the Development Plan and the Donor Acknowledgement Plan and implement changes.
  13. Oversee implementation of the Donor Acknowledgement Plan.
  14. Participate on Development Committee as the staff liaison and attend all meetings.
  15. Make presentations of the WCMC story to secure support.
  16. Perform duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  17. Manage the creation and publication of all fund raising materials.
  18. Maintain trust and relationships with donors by demonstrating good stewardship.

Qualifications:

Be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

  1. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of related experience.
  2. Demonstrate success in grant writing and procurement.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  4. Possess excellent writing skills.
  5. Possess knowledge of constituent management software such as Donor Snap and Constant Contact.
  6. Possess ability to find and secure new donors.
  7. Possess ability to effectively communicate key messages to various constituencies – staff, board, client, volunteers, donors, neighbors.
  8. Display a high degree of maturity and discretion to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
