Digital Marketing Specialist (LCOTR)
DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST
Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (LCR) is a church that works to meet God’s people wherever they are – in our building, our communities or in their own homes. We’re searching for a part-time marketing/creative strategist who can help us better connect with people and invite them into a relationship with us. In this position, you will lead the marketing effort and provide cohesive branding and messaging from idea conception to execution working across a variety of media types including digital, video, social, and design. This position will also work with and support the efforts of the Digital Strategy Team. This is a contractor (non-employee) position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Development of LCR marketing strategy within given resources (budget, staff, etc.), highlighting church “brand” and communications process to digital target audiences: Members, Seekers, and Community Members
- Actively work to execute marketing strategies to achieve goals for engagement and awareness utilizing skills in social media, photography, video, graphic design and copywriting.
- Guide the development and effectiveness of lcresurrection.org and LCR’s social media presence
- Solicit information from ministry leaders to develop to create a marketing calendar and support their individual efforts while keeping a strategic focus on the church’s overall mission and vision
- Train new team members (including volunteers) on process, procedures, and brand standards
- Engage congregation to develop volunteers and ongoing support. Work with church council and internal committees as needed.
Expected Effort:
- Startup (8 weeks) at 15 hours a week at $35-$45 an hour
- 5-10 hours a week thereafter at $35-$45 an hour
- Renewable 26-week contract with a maximum 230 hours
- Most work can be accomplished from home, but in-person meetings with staff and volunteers will be required
- Some weekend and weeknight hours required to support church events
- Periodic attendance at meetings with reporting to the Church Council (church governing board)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required (Digital Media, Marketing, or related creative field preferred)
- 2-5 years design or marketing experience
- Experience with PC’s- MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite desirable
- Experience with photography, creating videos is a plus
- Experience developing successful email, web, and print campaigns
- 1-2 years’ experience with Google Analytics and social media platform analytics
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management and follow through skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the church
- Previous work with a church or non-profit is preferred, but not required
- Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills
