Job Summary

Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is seeking an experienced, results-oriented fundraiser with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to become our Development Manager. This detail-oriented self-starter will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective donors with the goal of retaining and increasing their support as well as overseeing the planning and execution of special events. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

Job Description

Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is seeking an experienced, results-oriented fundraiser with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to become our Development Manager. This detail-oriented self-starter will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective donors with the goal of retaining and increasing their support as well as overseeing the planning and execution of special events. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.

The Development Manager reports to the Vice President of Development and Grants, manages the Special Events Coordinator, and is a member of Lighthouse’s Development Team, which is responsible for driving growth of revenue through a comprehensive fundraising program that meets and exceeds annual and long-term financial goals. This position works closely with members of the Development Team in a supportive and collaborative environment dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission: to empower young people and families to succeed through a continuum of care that promotes healing and growth.

Starting salary from $61,7000.00

Competitive pay based on education and experience.

Essential Functions:

  1. Executes a moves management approach to a portfolio of individual and corporate major gift ($5,000+) donors/prospects.
  2. Develops a custom strategy for each donor/prospect to generate new and higher levels of giving.
  3. Enlists senior management, volunteers, and board members in the cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship of major donors/prospects when appropriate.
  4. Manages the special events coordinator to ensure the successful planning and execution of fundraising events that meet or exceed fundraising goals.
  5. Solicits corporate event sponsorships and partnerships.
  6. Plans and executes Inside Lighthouse events as well as other small events for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  7. Executes stewardship, recognition, and retention strategies to develop existing donors. Recommends and implements new strategies and customized stewardship plans as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Five (5) years of professional work experience in fundraising, sales, or related work.
  3. Successful donor portfolio management experience using Moves Management and a proven success record in securing major gifts and/or planned gifts.
  4. Experience planning and executing non-profit special events.
  5. Proficiency with donor management software, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  7. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
  8. Exceptional attention to detail and follow through.
  9. Ability to align organizational needs and donor interests.
