The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director and manages the development team in conjunction with the Community Relations and Event Manager at Ohio Valley Voices.
Development
- Creates appropriate documentation to donors, foundations, and corporations and ensures documentation is sent in a timely manner.
- Supports the website, social media, and analytics
- Manages the social media calendar
- Creates and submits annual appeals
- Updates the OVV database
- Collaborates with the Community Relations and Events Manager for events
- Oversees scheduling, coordinating, and writing social media communications
- Oversees the updating of all development databases, records, and reports
- Other assigned duties by the Executive Director
- Works with the Executive Director in moves management strategies
- Works with outside entities to create printed marketing materials
Grants
- Creates and supports a grant calendar for submission and reporting
- Supports the grant writing process
- Keeps apprised of grant-related activities
- Keeps foundation records organized
- Supports timely submission of grant reports
An ideal candidate would also have the following qualities:
- Bachelor’s degree in development, communications, or another related field.
- Has at least 1 years’ experience in the nonprofit or related field
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a time sensitive environment
- Outgoing, professional, and welcoming demeanor
- Experience with CRM’s or Donor Management Databases
- Experience in Publisher, Creative Adobe and/or Photoshop desirable
- Experience with CRM’s or Donor Management Databases.
- Willingness to work weekends or afterhours related to OVV events, committee meetings or donor meetings.
