Job Summary
The Office of Development at LCOH is responsible for fundraising and constituent relations, including coordination of donor prospecting, solicitation of gifts, donor stewardship and basic donor relations. The position of Development Coordinator for Development supports and enhances fundraising operations, donor and constituent relations and stewardship of donors for Lindner Center of HOPE. This is a fulltime (40hrs) position.  
 
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Development Coordinator position, Lindner Center of HOPE (LCOH), reports to the Director of Development, Lindner Center of HOPE. 
 
The Office of Development at LCOH is responsible for fundraising and constituent relations, including coordination of donor prospecting, solicitation of gifts, donor stewardship and basic donor relations. The position of Development Coordinator for Development supports and enhances fundraising operations, donor and constituent relations and stewardship of donors for Lindner Center of HOPE. This is a fulltime (40hrs) position.  
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manages daily donation deposits. Tracks all gifts and pledges in the fundraising database (Blackbaud CRM software) and produces financial reports on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  2. Assists with data analysis, maintains data integrity, and coordinates the flow of information and data to the Finance Team at LCOH and UC Foundation to insure accurate and timely processing of all gifts, pledges, pledge reminders and acknowledgements.  
  3. Conducts prospect research and uses the Blackbaud CRM to track donor activity and information.  
  4. Leads the LCOH annual employee giving campaign, “HOPE Chest.”
  5. Coordinates production of acknowledgement letters for all gifts and pledges in accordance with Development’s 48-hour turnaround policy. 
  6. Prepares and coordinates materials for meetings.
  7. Regularly engages in a variety of contacts inside and outside of LCOH to obtain or relay information, arrange meetings, gather data and resolve issues, often dealing with influential board members, donors, and prospects.
  8. Manages and participates in donor stewardship strategies for Lindner Center of HOPE in full collaboration with the Center; reviews gifts as they are received and prepares appropriate responses; notifies LCOH departments of all restricted gifts received, tracks gifts and maintains donor files; prepares gift reports and correspondence; manages gift and endowment fund database including research and list requests; and other stewardship projects, as needed. 
  9. Serves as first point of contact for the Development Office for all inquiries and visitors, and provides appropriate responses, as needed; drafts and edits correspondence and other donor documents such as IRS forms for donors; requests research materials from UC Foundation, maintains records and files, tracks prospect management for Development Director and LCOH volunteer fundraisers.
  10. In full collaboration with LCOH, helps to coordinate and manage specific projects and donor cultivation special events (i.e. special receptions, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, campaign committee meetings and assists with all fundraising events, etc.).
  11. Provides administrative support to Director of Development including entering donor and prospect contact reports for all LCOH solicitors.
  12. Manages Development web site and online giving website and event portal.
  13. Participates in donor events where LCOH is the beneficiary.
  14. Assists in planning and executing all fundraising and stewardship activities.
  15. Acts as liaison with the LCOH Finance Team. Provides accurate fundraising reports and donor records to LCOH auditing group.
  16. Serves as number one back-up support for LCOH President and CEO.
  17. Assists other co-workers, as needed.
  18. Other duties, as assigned.
 
Position Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred with demonstrated success in planning, implementing and managing special events and overseeing volunteers. Fundraising experience, event planning and management skills preferred.
  2. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  3. Proven track record of problem solving skills with positive outcomes.
  4. Personal computer proficiency and 2 years word processing experience required.
  5. Experience with project processes and planning preferred.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills demonstrated.
  7. High degree of initiative and the ability to motivate other team members and volunteers.
  8. Strong organizational skills and the proven ability to set priorities and meet multiple, competing deadlines.
  9. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, volunteers, LCOH personnel and other constituencies in a professional manner.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, Constant Contact, social media, fundraising database management, e-mail and web-related programs.
  11. Exceptional  math aptitude, accurate record keeping, grammatical and verbal skills, versed in office procedures and protocol.  Strong organizational and time management skills are mandatory, as well as excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills. 
  12. Must have a strong customer service disposition and effective interpersonal skills.  Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
  13. The ability to work beyond the traditional work day and work week when needed.
 
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position are consistent with those performed in a normal office environment, including occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, and sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment and ability to use a computer.
