Job Summary

The Development Assistant is a vital part-time position (up to 30 hours per week) responsible for providing administrative support to the Development Director in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, special events, accounts receivable, and data entry.

Development Assistant Responsibilities

  • Process donations, acknowledgement letters, and other correspondence.

  • Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor records.

  • Create monthly fundraising reports and other DonorPerfect reports.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate database records and ensuring proper donor activity tracking in DonorPerfect.

  • Create mailing lists for annual fundraising campaigns; Summer Hunger Match, year-end appeal letters and others as directed.

  • Coordinate fundraising event planning and logistics for fundraisers.

  • Assemble materials for cultivation and solicitation visits.

  • Assist with writing and editing appeals.

  • Collaboratively create and distribute monthly E-Newsletters and three yearly print newsletters.

  • Process outgoing mail.

  • Attend and record minutes of Development Committee meetings.

  • Handle administrative details associated with the Development Office.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • College degree preferred, or a minimum of one year’s experience in a non-profit office setting.

  • Experience with database management required: Prefer experience with DonorPerfect.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and securely process donor information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Constant Contact and Canva.

  • Able to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or weekends.

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
