Creative Placemaking & Community Events Manager
The Creative Placemaking & Community Events Manager oversees all aspects of the CCAC-sponsored Clifton-based events CliftonFest and the Clifton Home & Garden Tour, as well as new and existing community creative placemaking efforts (Wednesdays in the Woods, Saturdays in the Park, CCAC on the Road, and Live@). This role is responsible for leading planning committees; booking and liaising with talent for each program; managing relationships with program partners; coordinating with internal staff and external vendors; and ensuring seamless execution of programs.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
The Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to building a stronger community through creativity and connection. Our new home in the heart of Uptown Cincinnati hosts classes, concerts, exhibitions, performances, and community events year-round. This 18,000 sq ft building includes two galleries, classrooms, an auditorium, meeting space, and an occupiable green rooftop.
OPPORTUNITY:
CCAC is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial individual who is committed to the arts and community building to join our team as the Creative Placemaking & Community Events Manager, to be responsible for the successful planning and implementation of CCAC’s community events and creative placemaking efforts.
The Creative Placemaking & Community Events Manager oversees all aspects of the CCAC-sponsored Clifton-based events CliftonFest and the Clifton Home & Garden Tour, as well as new and existing community creative placemaking efforts (Wednesdays in the Woods, Saturdays in the Park, CCAC on the Road, and Live@). This role is responsible for leading planning committees; booking and liaising with talent for each program; managing relationships with program partners; coordinating with internal staff and external vendors; and ensuring seamless execution of programs.
NOTE: This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position that requires flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays to oversee execution and coordination of scheduled programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development and Management
- Plan, organize, and implement existing creative placemaking programs and community events CliftonFest, Clifton Home & Garden Tour, Wednesdays in the Woods, Saturdays in the Park, CCAC on the Road, and Live@.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all contractors, partners, performers, and vendors in CCAC community events and creative placemaking programs, including scheduling, supply management, contract preparation and execution, and invoicing/payment.
- In partnership with Program Director and marketing staff, promote CCAC’s community events and creative placemaking efforts to both the local and regional community.
- In collaboration with Program Director, create and oversee budgets for all community events and creative placemaking programs.
- Ensure that all community events and creative placemaking programs have sufficient staff and volunteer support for successful implementation.
- Brainstorm and implement new community events and creative placemaking efforts to expand CCAC’s impact locally and regionally.
Community Partnerships
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community and civic organizations, including Cincinnati Parks, the City of Cincinnati, and neighborhood community councils and business associations.
- Complete all required partnership forms and permits as needed for successful event and program implementation.
- Working collaboratively with CCAC’s Executive Director and marketing staff to develop promotional materials, as well as related website and social media content, to promote attendance at community events and creative placemaking programs.
Program Administration and Evaluation
- Manage application and registration process for community events and creative placemaking programs, including tracking entries/registrations, participant notifications, and logistics communication.
- Maintain accurate records of event and program attendance, and provide statistical information for grant proposals and reports.
- Maintain and improve print and digital systems to evaluate programs to measure customer satisfaction and impact.
- Work collaboratively with Executive Director and Program Director to establish performance standards for all event and program personnel, and ensure performance targets are met.
- Monitor budgets for community events and creative placemaking programs, track expenses, and provide needed information for grant reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in creative placemaking, arts administration, event management, or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; customer-service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment.
- Comfort with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Creative Placemaking, Hospitality, Event Management, or related field preferred but not required.
- Ability to move event materials (folding tables, chairs, tents, lawn games, signage, supply bins, garbage cans, etc.) between CCAC to/around event location.
- Access to reliable transportation; driver’s license preferred.
- Comfort with working outdoor events.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $40,000 – $45,000 annual salary + $200/month health benefits stipend
- 13 paid holidays and 14 PTO days per year
