Job Summary

The Corporate & Donor Relations Specialist grows unrestricted revenue by building strong relationships with corporate partners, mid-level donors, and community stakeholders. This role leads sponsorship and donor engagement efforts, manages stewardship and retention strategies, and supports workplace giving and regional outreach initiatives. In partnership with the VP of Marketing and Development, the specialist also assists with foundation engagement, grant development support, and tracking systems to strengthen long-term fundraising success.

Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Corporate Sponsorships
•    Identify and recruit event sponsors.
•    Manage sponsorship packages.
•    Maintain corporate partner relationships.
•    Coordinate recognition and follow-up.
•    Develop workplace giving opportunities.
•    Implement tracking strategies for sponsorships.
•    Attend all Welcome House events and participate in logistical planning with teammates. 
•    Work close with Auxiliary Group to ensure maximum optimization for events (attending every meeting is not necessary).
•    Attend all Mardi Gras for Homeless Children Meetings. 


2. Mid-Level Donor Program
•    Manage donors giving $500–$5,000, create and implement new acknowledgement strategy.
•    Conduct stewardship calls.
•    Invite donors to tours and events.
•    Build donor pipelines to share with VP of Marketing & Development and CEO.


3. Community Relationship Development
•    Attend community events when applicable. 
•    Build relationships with businesses.
•    Coordinate speaking opportunities for VP of Development and/or CEO.
•    Manage chamber memberships.
•    Recruit workplace giving campaigns.


4. CRM Optimization and Donor Retention Strategy
•    Manage Raiser's Edge segmentation. 
•    Build donor reports/lists.
•    Maintain donor engagement tracking.
•    Support targeted campaigns.
•    Identify lapsed donors.
•    Run re-engagement campaigns.
•    Coordinate stewardship plans.
•    Track donor lifecycle.


5. Private Foundation Tracking

•    Identify any lapsed private funders (previous Welcome House Foundation funders).
•    Create Tracking Guide for all Private Funders.
•    Create running calendar of all private foundation due dates and final reporting due dates.
•    Work closely with VP of Development to find new local and national funders.
•    Potential to write smaller grants. 

6. Regional Development & Community Engagement
•    Support regional fundraising initiatives and community engagement efforts in collaboration with the VP of Marketing & Development.
•    Identify and cultivate regional corporate sponsorships and partnership opportunities.
•    Assist in identifying and reconnecting with donors and supporters in counties where Welcome House provides services.


7. Miscellaneous

•    Attends team meetings and regular supervision with the VP of Development.
•    Other miscellaneous activities relating to special events, in-kind donations, and volunteer recruiting.
•    Researches best practices amongst other nonprofit agencies as it relates to role.
•    Creates and implements high-level strategic practices for Welcome House Development Program. 

8.   Other duties as specified by the VP of Marketing & Development.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
•    Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

Experience:
•    3-5 related work experience
•    2 years and above overall professional experience
•    Experience with Event Management required.  
•    Experience with Raiser's Edge software required. 
•    Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. Various platforms experience such as Constant Contact, WordPress, and Canva will be taken into consideration.  
•    Certified Fundraising Specialist (CFRE) preferred, not required.
