Responsible for Clovernook’s overall financial plans and policies along with its accounting practices and the conduct of its relationship with banks, trust managers, and the financial community. Directs cash flow, budgeting, audit, accounting, leases, and insurance activities. Maintains the confidentiality of all agency financial matters and ensures that all staff comply with confidentiality requirements.

Job Summary: Directs the Accounting Department in a way which reflects and supports Clovernook’s mission, philosophy and strategic goals. Maintains appropriate documentation and controls to safeguard Clovernook’s assets. Responsible for Clovernook’s overall financial plans and policies along with its accounting practices and the conduct of its relationship with banks, trust managers, and the financial community. Directs cash flow, budgeting, audit, accounting, leases, and insurance activities. Maintains the confidentiality of all agency financial matters and ensures that all staff comply with confidentiality requirements.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the annual budget preparation process, working with the President, Department Heads, Board Treasurer and Finance Committee.
- Monitors and reports to the President, Board Treasurer, and Staff, as appropriate, on Clovernook’s fiscal strength and financial performance against budget, including trend analysis and budget variance studies.
- Directs the annual audit, coordinating with staff and the external auditing to ensure a thorough, accurate audit. Prepares the financial section of the agency’s Annual Report.
- Manages cash flow, keeping President and/treasurer informed of cash flow status in a timely manner and recommending corrective action if cash flow is unfavorable. Recommends to the President and Department Heads strategies and tactics for the management of resources in order to maximize bottom line results and return on investments.
- With the President of Business Operations proposes policies and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of inventory levels for raw materials, supplies, material-in-process, and finished goods.
- Reports to the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee, as requested, and reports regularly to the President, on all financial matters. Informs and advises the Board in its activities as custodians of the funds, securities and assets of the agency.
- Participates as a member of the management team in a pro-active and supportive manner.
- Communicates Clovernook’s strategic and operational goals to subordinates and establishes an environment of accountability in which each is expected to participate.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field: Master’s Degree or CPA a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in corporate financial management, with at least three years’ supervisory experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (i.e., knowledge of contract management, costing, pricing, and inventory management).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and professional journals, contracts, technical procedures and government regulations. Write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, consumers, customers and the general public.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
