Job Description

United Way of Greater Cincinnati is seeking an Associate, Community Impact who will support strategies aimed to strengthen the financial stability of families and advance economic mobility across the region as a member of the Community Impact team. The role will independently and collaboratively implement and support community solutions including: grantmaking, grant/grantee management, capacity building, and community/donor engagement efforts. 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

 

  • Grantmaking and Grant Management:
    • Support grantmaking and management activities for other United Way investment processes, including building applications, notifying partners of awards, and ensuring reporting is accurate and timely.
    • Ensure critical deadlines and policies are met to maintain grants and any necessary compliance based on the funding source.
    • In collaboration with the grantmaking team, identify opportunities to streamline and automate the grant making process. Assist with systems creation for all grant streams.

 

  • Relationship Management and Technical Assistance:
    • Support and manage relationships with funded organizations and community partners, including serving as a point of contact for their relationship with United Way and managing contact records in United Way’s CRM.
    • Provide technical assistance support to grantees and community partners around funding streams (ex. purpose, application, reporting, compliance).
    • Provide technical assistance on any required software/technology of funded organization (ex. EFSP web portal, United Way’s reporting system).
    • Manage communication with critical stakeholders/donors.

 

  • Capacity Building, Innovation and Evaluation:
    • Research best practices and emerging trends in family economic mobility, solutions to advance financial stability, and philanthropic approaches to community change.
    • Support systems change work, including meeting facilitation, designing, and preparing workshop materials, managing registration records, etc.
    • Support qualitative and quantitative evaluation efforts of United Way.
    • Support knowledge management.

 

  • Project Support:
    • Support and, at times, lead assigned projects to support key strategies to solidify support and expand relief efforts for families across our region.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years of professional work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Adaptability and agility in balancing multiple and shifting activities and priorities.
  • Personal attributes: results driven, resilient, collaborative, adaptable, entrepreneurial, inclusive, and courageous.

 

Salary $45,000, plus competitive benefits package
