Community Engagement & Communications Coordinator
The Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA) is seeking a motivated and organized Community Engagement & Communications Coordinator to support community-facing initiatives and strategic communications efforts. This role bridges relationship-building, event planning, and communications by working closely with members, community partners, and staff to increase engagement and visibility, and raise awareness to the public of the CBA’s impact.

This role bridges relationship-building, event planning, and communications by working closely with members, community partners, and staff to increase engagement and visibility, and raise awareness to the public of the CBA’s impact.
The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized. We’re seeking someone who can think creatively while managing multiple projects and accomplishing set goals.
Core Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Program Coordination (60%)
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations to support service projects and public education
- Plan and execute community-focused programs, events, and initiatives, including diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
- Collaborate with CBA committees and member groups to develop and implement projects
- Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers for project-based initiatives
- Represent the CBA at community events and outreach opportunities
- Manage key programs such as public forums, student engagement initiatives, service projects, and member networking opportunities
Communications & Marketing (40%)
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns for events, CLE programs, and member services
- Create and manage content for email marketing, newsletters, website, and social media platforms
- Maintain and update the CBA website and digital platforms
- Monitor, engage, and grow social media presence, track and report analytics
- Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and voice across all communications
- Collaborate with staff to promote programs and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Strong in-person communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with members and the public
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to bring new ideas forward
- Experience with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and content management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite)
- Knowledge of event planning, community engagement strategies, and volunteer management
- Flexible schedule including evening and some weekend availability for events
Preferred Experience:
- 2–3+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or nonprofit work
- Experience working with membership organizations or volunteer-driven programs
- Familiarity with the legal community or professional associations is a plus
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field or equivalent professional experience
