Communications Specialist
The Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA) is seeking a part-time Communications Specialist to support our communications and editorial efforts by assisting with content creation, editing, and social media management. This position will contribute to our magazine, the CBA Report, social media platforms, newsletters, and website. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor who can translate information into clear, concise content. This person should have a strong understanding of AP style and be comfortable communicating with attorney members. The role reports to the Director of Communications.

The Cincinnati Bar Association (CBA) is seeking a part-time Communications Specialist to support our communications and editorial efforts by assisting with content creation, editing, and social media management. This position will contribute to our magazine, the CBA Report, social media platforms, newsletters, and website. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor who can translate information into clear, concise content. This person should have a strong understanding of AP style and be comfortable communicating with attorney members. The role reports to the Director of Communications.
About us: We are a downtown non-profit professional organization serving thousands of attorneys in Greater Cincinnati. Our mission is to serve our members and educate the public. We provide educational training, professional development opportunities, and social events for our attorney members.
Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and proofread content for the CBA Report.
- Assist with researching, interviewing, and developing stories for the CBA Report.
- Edit and proofread magazine for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency.
- Write and edit email communications, newsletters, website, and social media posts.
- Manage and maintain CBA social media accounts, including monitoring engagement.
- Collaborate with CBA staff to gather information for promoting events.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms.
- Experience managing social media platforms.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
