SALARY RANGE

$55,000-$61,000

THE WOMEN’S FUND

The Women's Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation leads our community in ensuring the economic self-sufficiency of women in our region. Through leadership, research, and policy advocacy, the Women’s Fund is designing a community where all women can participate, prosper and reach their full potential.

RELATIONSHIPS:

The Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director of the Women’s Fund and will work closely with the entire Women’s Fund team and our community of supporters and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are three key areas of responsibility in this position.

Communications – 75%

The Communications Manager drives the Women’s Fund momentum by crafting a cohesive communications strategy and executing the day-to-day communications activities of the Fund. This includes communicating with our community through social media, e-mails, press releases and our website.

  • Identify core audiences and design communications strategy and key messages for each audience that broadens and deepens their relationship with the Women’s Fund and converts our fans to investors and activators.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the Women’s Fund and provide resources to team members to be effective and consistent brand stewards.
  • Development and project management of the Fund’s Impact Report, website, print or electronic communication, brochures, special reports and other materials.
  • Manage media relations in conjunction with GCF marketing department; ensure fidelity of all information released publicly.
  • Increase visibility of the Women’s Funds’ community and national leadership work among various stakeholders through strategic dissemination of our research, thought leadership and products.
  • Create engaging written and visual collateral content including, but not limited to, impact reports, annual reports, and/or other materials; write effective, concise copy for multiple platforms, e-mail, websites and social networks.
  • Grow new and existing audiences on social networks; monitor social media progress using web analytic tools; incorporate optimization strategies, analyze data and research best ways to increase engagement.
  • Conceptualize, create and lay out basic visuals based on fund needs; Familiar and proficient with design software such as Canva, Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Manage design and print vendors for more complex designed projects.
  • Report on key metrics as it relates to marketing plan deliverables.

Event Planning— 25%

  • Lead, plan and execute educational and advocacy events.
  • Manage event budget and coordinate logistics working in tandem with the Women’s Fund Coordinator, Development Director, and the Engagement Committee.
  • Work with Development Director on fundraising event communications.
  • Work with Civic Inclusion Manager on advocacy event communications, including Appointed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for the issue of women’s economic self-sufficiency and gender equity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including presentation skills, with the ability to work successfully with extremely diverse constituencies. Ability to project a positive image/brand identity to the public in presentations and meetings.
  • Polished and compelling oral and written communication skills; ability to embody the Women’s Fund’s unique brand voice and deliver effective and persuasive pitching, writing, editing and verbal communications skills
  • Impeccable follow-through and strong attention to detail; ability to connect all facets of communications and events to our strategy.
  • Excellent time and task management skills as evidenced by a proven ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • At least two-three years of experience in marketing, communications or related fields. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficient/Ability to master Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms, Salesforce, design software, Google Analytics and AP writing style. Basic design skills highly desired.
  • Ability to leverage volunteer and in-kind resources to achieve goals.
  • Desired personal traits: team player, nimble, continuous learner, organized, efficient and enjoys a positive culture filled with talented people who care about our community
  • Proven track record of successfully working with the media.

This position is full-time, with attractive benefits and is located at Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Some evening and weekend hours are required.
