Kennedy Heights Arts Center (KHAC) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative Bookkeeper to provide accounting and administrative support for KHAC and partner organizations The Well and Pones through a shared services agreement. This salaried, four days per week position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial operations for three small arts nonprofits, while also supporting front desk reception and office support.
Shared Services Bookkeeper
Location: Kennedy Heights Arts Center
Schedule: 32 hours per week
Compensation: $36,500–$39,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Overview:
Kennedy Heights Arts Center (KHAC) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative Bookkeeper to provide accounting and administrative support for KHAC and partner organizations The Well and Pones through a shared services agreement. All work will be performed on-site at Kennedy Heights Arts Center.
This salaried, four days per week position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial operations for three small arts nonprofits, while also supporting front desk reception and serving as a welcoming presence at KHAC. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to mission-driven, nonprofit organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Financial Operations
Provide bookkeeping support for multiple small nonprofit organizations with accuracy and consistency. Exact duties may vary for each organization, but tasks will include:
- Manage accounts payable, including bill processing and payments
- Manage accounts receivable, including preparing invoices and making deposits
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule bi-weekly
- Reconcile credit card statements monthly
- Maintain and manage donor database records; send donation acknowledgement letters
- Monitor grant budgets and spending to ensure compliance with funder requirements
- Support the annual budgeting process, including preparing financial reports
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and other financial accounts
- Work closely with a contract CFO/accountant to support monthly reconciliations and ensure accounting functions align with established standards, policies, and procedures
Administrative Support
- Provide front desk reception at Kennedy Heights Arts Center
- Answer phones and direct inquiries appropriately
- Offer general administrative support as needed to support daily operations
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent relevant experience
- 1–3 years of related bookkeeping experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience highly preferred
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; high-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Cooperative attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
