Bilingual Assistance Programs Associate

The Bilingual Assistance Programs Associate plays a key role in ensuring that Hispanic individuals and families in our community have equitable access to vital resources and support. By providing bilingual assistance, community outreach, and program coordination, this role strengthens our mission of offering hope and direct aid to those facing hardship.
JOB DUTIES:
Client Support & Direct Assistance
- Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) support in the call center, ensuring every client receives assistance with empathy and respect.
- Speak and write fluently in Spanish and English to effectively communicate with clients and document interactions.
- Assist with walk-in requests for food and material assistance, upholding the dignity of every individual seeking help.
- Provide interpretation services during Vincentian home visits as needed, ensuring compassionate and accurate communication that fosters trust and upholds the dignity of those we serve.
- Maintain accurate client records in Salesforce, ensuring every individual receives the right support in a timely and organized manner.
- Develop materials, procedures, and systems to enhance accessibility to programs and services, creating and promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Serve as a liaison between SVdP NKY and other organizations supporting the Hispanic community, helping remove barriers to essential resources.
- Attend quarterly resource fairs and community outreach events to promote SVdP programs, ensuring no one in need is left unaware of available assistance.
- Represent SVdP NKY at community gatherings, advocating for those in need and fostering trust with underserved populations.
Program Oversight & Volunteer Support
- Oversee and execute assigned resource programs, ensuring it is effectively implemented to maximize its impact on those we serve.
- Support Vincentian volunteers, equipping them with the tools and information they need to effectively assist clients.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized workspace, ensuring every client and volunteer feels valued and respected.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization and the people we serve.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required – ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients.
- Commitment to SVdP NKY’s mission of serving those in need with compassion and humility.
- Availability to work 25 hours per week, with some flexibility for home visits and events.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to engage with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Salesforce (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally in support of program operations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (work-related mileage is reimbursed).
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
