Job Summary

United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) is seeking an Associate, Community Resources who will assist the Resources Project Manager with collecting, updating, maintaining and expanding Community Connections’ community resources and partner agencies services in the UWGC service delivery area.

Job Description

United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) is seeking an Associate, Community Resources who will assist the Resources Project Manager with collecting, updating, maintaining and expanding Community Connections’ community resources and partner agencies services in the UWGC service delivery area (and beyond) for Community Connections databases/systems and for use by Community Connections staff and community agencies and businesses, the public and others as determined appropriate. Ensures data integrity and works toward system integration and consistency as appropriate.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Resource Database Curation and Maintenance:
Assists with the collection and inclusion of information for the resource database in accordance with AIRS/2-1-1 Taxonomy, AIRS and agency style Guides.
Reviews agency submission and determines appropriateness for inclusion/revision including annual update process, seasonal/incremental updates, and new programs.
Assists with maintaining the 2-1-1 resource database according to national and organizational standards for the resource database component of seeking and maintaining AIRS accreditation.
Enters agency and service information in resource database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Actively participates in the comprehensive annual resource update process, modifying information as it becomes available.

• Communication and Partner Relationship Management:
Develops and maintains effective and solid working relationships between UWGC organization and other partners in the community seeking to achieve aligned goals and objectives, including program funders. May attend community events/fairs as requested to gather information and act as an agency representative and gather information on interim updates.
Conducts presentations to groups of any size and arranges for resource staff involvement in community events/groups/committees.
Proactively gathers and delegates information for database maintenance purposes including new agency information forms, annual surveys and interim updates.
Follows up on feedback from UWGC staff, interns/volunteers, agency contacts and callers.
Corresponds with agencies seeking to be added to the database and those who do not respond to staff requests for annual updates.

• Partner UWGC Referral Training and Support:
Work with UWGC partner agencies to provide proactive outreach and training to ensure their prompt response to establish, manage and respond to and close service referrals.
Review, approve/deny and establish access to UWGC sponsored systems. Provide communication and training to onboard and support designated Community Partners.
Identify and work to eliminate partner barriers.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and two years’ work experience.
• Ability to obtain the Certified Resource Specialist credential from AIRS within the first 12-14 months of employment.
• Suitable experience in writing and editing based on specific guidelines with demonstrated success and accomplishment throughout career required.
• Experience working with or managing relational databases preferred.
• Knowledge of social services (agencies or systems) preferred.
• Competent in MS Office products and a commitment toward continuing education to maintain pace with technological advances within the field of Information & Referral.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
