Job Description

The Bethesda Foundation is seeking qualified candidates for an Annual Giving Development Officer.  This position reports to the Director of Development of the Bethesda Foundation and provides direct annual giving fundraising support for Bethesda Hospitals, Hospice of Cincinnati and Fernside, A Center for Grieving Children and Families, All a part of the TriHealth system.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Successfully develop, plan, execute and evaluate a comprehensive, integrated annual giving (including direct mail, e-philanthropy and stewardship), donor development and stewardship programs
  • Maintain active annual giving portfolio of prospects for identification for increased annual gifts and major/planned gift potential.
  • Develop and execute small scale annual donor and ally engagement opportunities for the purpose of donor acquisition and stewardship.
  • Focus on securing new donors, donor retention and increasing annual gift amounts of individual donors to meet annual giving goals.
  • Facilitate annual scholarship granting processes for nursing, endoscopy and other awards as necessary.
  • Participate in Foundation strategic plan leadership group for successful plan execution.

 

The ideal candidate:

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a specific ability to create donor solicitations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to create personal relationships and communicate effectively delivering top notch donor (customer) experience, verbal, written and in-person.
  • Ability to interpret campaign results in “real time” and communicate progress.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands, while maintaining a commitment to timeliness and excellence.
  • Ability to work cooperatively to achieve common goals, support cooperation and collaboration amongst the Foundation team.
  • Ability to recognize among annual giving donors the potential for significant major and planned gifts and work with the team to identify approach.
  • Has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of two-three years development experience.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and MS office suite.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism in their desire to excel in a not-for-profit environment.
