Job Summary

Responsible for events to include planning, strategy and execution. Evaluates event outcomes to recommend and implement decisions regarding logistics, venue, permitting, timing, contractors, ticket pricing, auctions and collaborations. Develops and manages event timetable to ensure smooth and efficient execution of event. Manages a comprehensive direct mail fundraising program that will meet the financial goals of the department in conjunction with the online and major gifts staff. Position is required to work evenings and weekends during corresponding events. Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field of event management, fundraising/development, marketing or other comparable field.

Job Description

The Annual Fund and Events Coordinator is responsible for annual fundraising (direct mail, digital marketing and online fundraising) in alignment with organization goals, as well as coordination, strategy and execution of special events, third party events and cause-related marketing. Manages a comprehensive direct mail fundraising program that will meet the financial goals of the department in conjunction with the online and major gifts staff. Oversee development of direct mail copy and strategy in collaboration with Director and marketing staff. Responsible for events to include planning, strategy and execution. Evaluates event outcomes to recommend and implement decisions regarding logistics, venue, permitting, timing, contractors, ticket pricing, auctions and collaborations. Develops and manages event timetable to ensure smooth and efficient execution of event. Thoroughly documents event procedures (S&O) for use in future years. Assist the Volunteer staff with recruitment and supervision of volunteers for special events. Help maximize the effort of volunteers and staff in planning the events, particularly through event committees and staff teams. Leads constituency management functions for Blackbaud Luminate Online and Blackbaud NXT as relates to events and direct mail efforts. Works with Director on all related budgeting aspects and updating revenue/expenses PowerPlan. Serves as Freestore Foodbank liaison to event committees and cause-related marketing events and promotions. Required to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed by event schedules. Work with the Director and Marketing staff to increase annual gifts through direct mail, online, special events and annual campaigns. Coordinates with Digital and Marketing Communications staff to develop and implement online and social media strategies for events and annual fund needs. Support and coordinate other event needs as required including all-staff events, food distribution events and more Develop and maintain relationships across all event related efforts with internal and external customers, i.e., staff, vendors, donors, sponsors and volunteers. May help manage summer interns as needed for event logistics. Associate’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field of event management, fundraising/development, marketing or other comparable field. Proficient in Microsoft Office Proficient in Fundraising Software, i.e. Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud Luminate Online Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to develop a budget and make sound financial decisions Experience with volunteer coordination Project Management experience and use of project management software tools Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
